The Archival Technologies Lab provides support for the emerging City University of New York (CUNY) and Queens College Re-Indigenization networks, which are informal groups of faculty, staff and students working towards the re-Indigenization of CUNY and Queens College spaces. This work includes securing funds to pay local Indigenous communities for their labor and expertise, pushing for the adoption of land acknowledgements co-created with Indigenous communities, critically reviewing syllabi, and library, archive, museum and art collections, appropriately incorporating Indigenous practices in official ceremonies, asking questions about place names (including building names) and holidays, and moving towards reparation and rematriation.
The CUNY network communicates through a mailing list and the Queens College network communicates through Discord. To join email james [DOT] lowry [AT] qc [DOT] cuny [DOT] edu
